LCA Late 'Til 8: The Haunting of LCA - Opening Reception

In honor of All Hallows Eve, the Laredo Center for the Arts is partnering up with Sketch Bomb Laredo to bring you "The Haunting of LCA!”

Opening Reception will take place on Friday, Oct 11th in our Mezzanine area from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m in the heART of downtown Laredo.

The Haunting of LCA will include works inspired by the surreal fantasy cinematic styles & gothic films from the following three spellbinding directors: David Lynch, Tim Burton, & Guillermo Del Toro.

The exhibit will bring these three great auteurs magical films to life through haunting & mystical works of art.

The Opening Reception will feature a booth by the Laredo Paranormal Research Society, Haunting music curated by The Pop Rocks, a Spooky Kid’s corner, tarot card readings, and a special mystical art market.

Stop by and purchase a little magic from our mystical art market.

Hecho a Mano @ Cultura for Small Business Saturday (Laredo, Texas)

Finally! An HECHO A MANO and CULTURA BEER GARDEN mash-up! Join us this SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY for a local, handmade shopping event at the coolest spot in town! Cultura Beer Garden hosts an Hecho a Mano Pop Up Market for all your holiday shopping, without all the mall-madness. Along with local, handmade artists, crafters and microenterprises, Cultura will be featuring delicious Mimosas and tasty brunch beers to complement your Food Truck dining experience. Come downtown and start your holiday shopping right, by supporting local artists and crafters who bring you original, unique handmade art and crafts perfect for gift-giving.

Small Business Sip & Shop starts at 11 am and ends at 3 pm. Vendors will have original art, handmade accessories, jewelry, home goods, toys, wood works, and more!

Food trucks will feature delicious brunch menu items, and Cultura will have an extensive array of brunch brews, coffee, mimosas and more to choose from. Bring your family, friends and pets to this family friendly event to support Local artisans on Small Business Saturday!

Hecho a Mano @ Laredo Center for the Arts' Dia de los Muertos Festival (Laredo, Texas)

Join us as we pop-up at the Laredo Center for the Arts' Annual Dia De Los Muertos Festival! Come downtown and visit us at the historic Center for the Arts outdoor patio and find original art, handmade crafts, artisanal food and more! We have over 25 local, handmade artists and crafters, along with local music, food vendors, dance performances, art on display and free arts and craft activities for the whole family! Bring your friends, family and leashed pets downtown for a memorable, family-friendly art and culture event!

Play: Series 2, Toy-Themed Art Show @ Laredo Center for the Arts (Laredo, Texas)

Sketchbomb's annual Play, toy-themed art show, is back again! I'll have another munny piece up. Sadly I won't be here since I'll be in San Antonio watching Tears for Fears live! But don't let that deter you. There are so many awesome pieces done by local Laredo artists and there will also be free screenprinted shirts provided by AR Graphics! Family-friendly so there's no excuse that you need to find a sitter. ;)

Hecho a Mano - Two-Day Holiday Bazaar!

 

Friday, 5-9PM & Saturday, 10AM-4PM
Free parking downtown after 6PM

Hey y'all! If you missed out on our Small Business Saturday event, you're just in luck! Our next event will be a two-day holiday bazaar at Gallery201! Lots of local vendors and handmade goods to shop from. It's never too early to buy your christmas gifts and give the gift of fantastic original art! Free Swag Bags for the first 25 customers who purchase $25 or more, and a free gift wrap for anyone who purchases $30 or more! We have Letters to Santa Make-n-Take table for the kiddos, and complementary hot coffee for all!

We'll still be having our in-person deals:
- $5 off Tank Tops
- 50% Large Screen Prints
- $2 #NoDAPL Pins (all proceeds from these will be donated to Standing Rock)

Gallery 201 is located right next to Bethany House. We'll have our Hecho a Mano banner displayed outside but if you get lost, the gallery is one block east of the Center for the Arts and located in the middle of the block! Since it is a historical building, they're not allowed to put up a permanent sign so it's kind of a hole in the wall. Still can't find it? Phantasmagoria

"In honor of All Hallows Eve, the Laredo Center for the Arts is partnering up with Sketch Bomb Laredo and the Laredo Paranormal Research Society to bring you "Phantasmagoria: Paranormal Exhibit." Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, Oct 13, 2016 from 6-8 pm. 

Phantasmagoria will feature all that goes bump in the night such as ghosts and ghouls and other stranger things such as sci-fi extraterrestrial life forms and aliens. The exhibit brings to life the myths, legends, folklore and superstitions that we are all familiar with such as El Cucuy and La Llorona. 

The Laredo Paranormal Research Society will be presenting some of the findings from local investigations they have conducted. 

This event is free to the public. Light refreshments will be provided."
